Welcome

Welcome to the new blog for Spartanburg Amateur Radio Club. While working on the newsletter for the club we realized that it would be nice to have a way to communicate with club members in a more consistent way that would allow us to get important events and news out to members quickly. Getting information from the blog is easy, sign up to follow the blog and you will receive an email notifying you that something has been posted or just check the blog periodically to see the latest new

SPARC September Events

Please be aware that the SPARC will be participating in two community events in September 2015.

These are in addition to the regular Tuesday night meetings.

The Spartanburg County Library is holding their Fall HobbyCon on September 12th from 12 PM to 4 PM.  We will plan to meet at the back parking lot of the downtown library at 11 AM for communication set-up.  The purpose is to promote amateur radio as a hobby at this County Library sponsored event.

On September 26th 2015 the Spartanburg County Emergency Management Office is hosting an Emergency Management Expo in conjunction with the Inman Harvest Day Festival.  This event typically draws several thousand people so it is an excellent chance for SPARC to promote amateur radio as a hobby and as an emergency communication tool.  This is an "all day affair" being scheduled from 9 AM until 5 PM.  We will plan to be setting up around 8 AM that morning.  Our exact location has not been assigned yet but will be announced / published ASAP (that is, when we know it!)

Please plan some time to come out and support our efforts!
